weather savant
i think i’m a weather person. i think i can predict it better than weather.com any old day. sometimes, just sometimes, i can feel when it’s sunny out even if i’m in a totally window-less space. i’m pretty good at feeling electricity in the air (from storms)- the kind we get on hot summer days in virginia. and off-winds; i can catch those too, if i pay attention. currently, the thunder is getting closer very quickly, but i was definitely paying attention to the humidity early this morning. well, i cant really predict it. i dont think anyone, meteorologist Jane/John included, can. but i can usually feel the stuff that precedes weather. and the after effects, too. i think it would be asking too much for this storm to end before 4:30 so i can make it out to the barn and be relatively dry, but the air will probably feel much more inviting tonight.
i realize i sound kind of retarded; it’s all good. i am one of those people who reads the fine print on every box/label imaginable, and actually *looks* at the ground. yes, i even look up in large auditoriums to study whatever acoustically-related fixtures are present. a friend of mine says the word “aloof” as if it were an insult, and i take it as a compliment. different perspectives are the stuff of life.
and i realize your reading this won’t make you feel it, but the air coming in through the window just got significantly cooler (it probably went from 80 to 60). i think i can safely say that this is a “whoa momma” of a storm. :)
later.
